I appreciate how solid this thing is. It's metal and I don't fear breaking some plastic part. It should last a long time. Have been using it for about 3 months now, long enough to understand its strengths and weaknesses.
That being said, it does seem to have trouble with oilier dark roasts. Several times now I have had to take it apart and clean out the chute with a chopstick and compressed air and also grinding 'trough' area around the burr grinding plates. I'm using a reasonably fine grind and the unit basically gets 'slugged' and no coffee will come out. One time the motor even stalled.
I have taken to weekly (or more frequently depending on beans) going out to the garage and blowing the thing out to try to prevent this, since I have a compressor and shop air. For many users this might not be an option, though maybe canned air would work. I suppose a dedicated brush might work as well to snake it out.
One other minor note - would be good to give users a reasonable starting point for various grinds. We're making espresso and it seems like 25-30 is a good range to start for that.
I can not recreate the shots that I was getting from df54 for the first month from purchasing. It’s either my body got used to the taste and caffeine state or the standard burr does not grind as brand new anymore. I wish there was 54mm SSP burr to make this grinder 5 star. Overall it’s still great little grinder.

Ionizer didn't work out of the box. Grinds going everywhere. They wouldn't let me return it as defective because the solution is just that I clean it every single time.
Super high quality, classy looking and has made my morning espresso a millions times better. Worth the cost.
